PRESS ROOM

McCormick gathered over 9,000 signatures, more than doubling the number needed to make the ballot across the state and in many of Indiana’s nine congressional districts.

“Jennifer McCormick is gaining popularity and momentum across Indiana, and her signature campaign is direct proof,” said Indiana Democratic Party Chair Mike Schmuhl. “Hoosiers know our next governor should be focused on taking on special interests, raising teacher pay at local schools, expanding childcare opportunities, protecting personal freedoms, and supporting Indiana’s rural hospitals.”

“After 20 years of Republican administrations, it's clear that one-party rule is limiting Indiana’s potential. We need leadership that listens to Hoosiers and protects their rights. Instead, Republicans have stripped away the right to choose and refused to give Hoosiers a direct voice at the ballot box on critical issues like our neighbors. As governor, Jennifer will listen to Hoosiers, restore reproductive rights, and bring much-needed balance to our state government.”

“Our party is united behind her, and ready for 2024, while the Republican gubernatorial candidates begin their primary race to the bottom and collectively spend millions to persuade Hoosiers.”

With today’s submissions, McCormick now becomes the only Democratic gubernatorial candidate to qualify for the primary ballot.
